Did you see that? Nyck Harbor has strange interaction with Texas trooper in USC-A&M game
As a 30-3 first half for South Carolina wrapped up against No. 3 Texas A&M, Gamecock wide receiver Nyck Harbor got into a strange interaction with what appeared to be a Texas state trooper.
The speedy Harbor bolted for an 80-yard catch-and-run touchdown in the second quarter, and he finished up the long run in one of Kyle Field’s tunnels. Harbor returned to the field from the tunnel alongside teammates Oscar Adaway III, Jayden Sellers and Vandrevius Jacobs.
Texas A&M police shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account that the officer had been relieved of his game day assignment.
“We are aware of the incident in the NE tunnel involving a DPS trooper,” the post read “He has been relieved of his game day assignment.”
Video showed the trooper bumping into Harbor and Adaway while walking right through the group, and then he turned to seemingly scold Harbor.
Harbor and Adaway turned toward the officer before walking away.
The Texas Department of Public Safety also released a statement on X following the incident.
“The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is aware of the incident that occurred today during the Texas A&M football game. The DPS Trooper involved was sent home from the game,” the post read. “Our Office of Inspector General (OIG) is also aware of the incident and will be further looking into the matter. No additional information will be released at this time.”
