Final game details, TV channel set for USC-Clemson football showdown
This year’s Clemson-South Carolina football game already had a kick time.
Now it has a TV channel.
The Tigers and Gamecocks will play their annual rivalry game next Saturday (Nov. 29) at noon on SEC Network in Columbia, it was announced Monday.
The 2025 Palmetto Bowl, which will be played at USC’s Williams-Brice Stadium two days after Thanksgiving, had its kickoff time set over the summer because of SEC/ESPN TV contract rules. But the channel had not been designated yet.
The SECN channel designation comes as a surprise. Over the summer, the ACC and the SEC announced the game would air on either ESPN or ABC. But the collective struggles of Clemson and South Carolina obviously changed those plans (TV channel designations are made by league partners, in this case ESPN).
Next Saturday’s game will be the 122nd all-time meeting between Clemson and South Carolina. USC won the most recent meeting between in-state rivals 17-14 at Clemson’s Memorial Stadium last year and has won two of the last three games.
Clemson, USC records heading into game
Coach Dabo Swinney and Clemson (5-5, 4-4 ACC) beat No. 20 Louisville on the road last Friday and hosts FCS Furman on Saturday with a chance to clinch bowl eligibility with a win. ESPN’s FPI gives them a 99% chance of winning that game.
South Carolina (3-7, 1-7 SEC) blew a 27-point lead at No. 3 Texas A&M on Saturday and cannot reach a bowl. Coach Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks host Coastal Carolina (6-4) on Saturday and are favored by 23.5 points.
Clemson leads the all-time series with South Carolina 73-44-4 (.619). ESPN’s FPI currently gives the Gamecocks a 57.9% chance of beating Clemson next Saturday. South Carolina has not beaten Clemson in Columbia since 2013 (12 years).
