Gamecocks QB Air Noland will enter transfer portal, report says
South Carolina backup quarterback Air Noland will enter the transfer portal, according to a report Monday morning by On3 Sports.
Noland spent one year with South Carolina. The 6-foot-3, 225 pound Georgia native was a four-star recruit and top 75 national prospect out of high school and originally signed with Ohio State in 2024.
Noland didn’t see much playing time in his lone season with the Gamecocks, playing in just two games for South Carolina in 2025. He played 15 total snaps in wins over S.C. State and Coastal Carolina, per Pro Football Focus. Noland was 2 for 3 passing with 13 yards against the Chanticleers.
The transfer portal officially opens Jan. 2
Noland becomes the eighth scholarship player and first QB at South Carolina to announce their intentions to hit the portal, joining: TE Michael Smith, DL Zavion Hardy, LB Jaron Willis, OL Nick Sharpe, WR Brian Rowe Jr., OL Trovon Baugh and OL Cason Henry.
Noland’s departure leaves USC with three scholarship QBs for 2026: LaNorris Sellers, Cutter Woods and incoming freshman Landon Duckworth. That trio will be under new leadership next season with the recent hire of new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Kendal Briles.
