Another South Carolina O-lineman plans to hit transfer portal, per report
South Carolina is expected to lose another offensive lineman to the transfer portal.
Per a report from Gamecock Central, Gamecocks center Boaz Stanley is expected to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Friday.
He is the team’s 13th total scholarship departure.
Stanley’s decision continues the O-line exodus following a 2025 season where South Carolina went 4-8 and its offensive line allowed 43 sacks, which ranked 132 out of 134 FBS programs.
Along with Stanley, the offensive linemen who have already announced their intentions to transfer are: Cason Henry, Trovon Baugh, Tree Babalade, Nick Sharpe and Rodney Newsom Jr. — all of whom started games for USC in 2025.
Few, though, were as disappointing as Stanley.
Upon transferring in from Troy in the offseason, Stanley seemed to be the furthest along of any transfer. After spring practice, head coach Shane Beamer all but guaranteed that Stanley was going to be the starting center for the Gamecocks.
And, well, he was. Stanley started in the first three games of the season before getting replaced by Nolan Hay and then Newsom. He earned back his starting job against Oklahoma, but lost it ahead of the Clemson game when Hay got healthy.
The mass offensive line departures now put the onus on new offensive line coach Randy Clements (who replaced the fired Lonnie Teasley) to bring in a solid chunk of transfers who can contribute immediately.
