USC O-line transfer Tree Babalade joining Lonnie Teasley at new school
Former South Carolina offensive lineman Tree Babalade has committed to Nebraska from the transfer portal, he posted Tuesday on Instagram.
The move reunites Babalade with former South Carolina offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley at his new school.
South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer fired Teasley in the middle of the 2025 season. Teasley was announced as Nebraska’s new offensive line coach Dec. 19. Reports of Babalade’s intentions to enter the transfer portal surfaced on Dec. 23.
Babalade appeared in seven games with five starts midseason at right tackle for South Carolina in 2025. He appeared in 22 games across four seasons with 15 total starts during his time with the Gamecocks.
The 6-foot-5, 330-pound lineman is a former four-star prospect and top 250 recruit from Maryland.
Babalade is one of seven scholarship offensive linemen to hit the transfer portal for South Carolina. He joins Trovon Baugh (Texas A&M) as the only ones to have committed to a new school.
