A first for South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers: his own golf tournament
South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers is hosting a golf tournament later this month.
The Gamecocks’ redshirt junior quarterback announced Monday the details surrounding the first LaNorris Sellers Charity Golf Tournament, which will be held on Tuesday, May 26 at Cobblestone Golf Club in Blythewood.
Per Sellers’ agent, Selwyn Roberts, the proceeds from the tournament will be donated to Florence-based HopeHealth’s Compassionate Care Fund, which goes toward providing resources to patients “with little to no resources.”
Sellers, a Florence native, has helped raise over $50,000 for HopeHealth over the past few years and, just last summer, appeared at a HopeHealth Family Night alongside Gamecocks’ women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley.
Registration for the golf tournament is open on Sellers’ website. Individuals can snag a spot for $150, which includes tournament entry and a signed photo. For $250, you can get a tee time along with a signed photo, catered meal and a meet-and-greet before the event.
There is also an offer for a $1,500 corporate sponsor package, which includes four tournament entries, branding at the event, a signed jersey and everything previously mentioned.
Sellers will begin his third season as South Carolina’s starting quarterback in 2026. After bursting on the scene as a redshirt freshman, becoming a household name after leading USC to a win at Clemson, Sellers threw for over 2,400 yards last season, accounting for 18 total touchdowns to go along with eight interceptions.
The Gamecocks, which finished 4-8 last season, will begin their season on Sept. 5 against Kent State.
