Between now and the season-opener against North Carolina on Sept. 3, we will ask 50 people: “What do you think about the Gamecocks in 2015?” We’re counting down the days until kickoff. Today’s panelist is Tommy Suggs, former USC quarterback and radio color analyst for Gamecocks games:

“We will be better, I think much better than we were last year. Our defense will be much improved because we have some help with players and we will also run one scheme, which will help a lot. Offensively, I think the quarterback situation will work its way out. We have recruited well at that position. I think we have ample talent. Once coach makes a decision and settles it down, we will be fine. Being an old quarterback myself, you want to be the man. You want to be the leader. The area that does concern me a little bit is the offensive line, mainly because of injuries. I worry about our better, most experienced players not being 100 percent healthy. That can be a compounding problem because of the inexperience at quarterback. What that translates into as far as wins and loses, I don’t know, but we should have a chance to win every ball game we play I think.”
