THUMBS DOWN
Groundskeepers
Players for both sides were slipping and sliding up and down Neyland Stadium. It rained before the game, but not during – yet the field didn’t drain very well. It was dangerous.
Defense
Wash. Rinse. Repeat. USC wouldn’t have had to drive downfield in the final minutes if the Gamecocks hadn’t given up touchdowns on the first two tries.
First-quarter playcalls
Perhaps it was just bad execution, but the first-quarter follies kept the Gamecocks from having the lead late.

He dropped three interceptions. Any one of them could have turned into a scoring drive.
