Texans’ Clowney sidelined again with back injury
Houston Texans starting outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney didn’t practice Thursday because of a lower back injury that has affected him this week, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Clowney, a former South Carolina star, practiced Wednesday in full pads, but was unable to practice Thursday.
Texans coach Bill O’Brien said Clowney is day-to-day by with a “minor, but painful” injury, the paper reported. The injury is muscular in nature with no structural damage.
It is another in a long line of injuries for Clowney.
As a rookie, he underwent microfracture surgery, preceded by sports hernia surgery, a concussion and meniscus surgery.
This year, Clowney has had a sprained ankle, an illness, a shoulder injury and now the back injury.
In six starts and seven games played this season, Clowney has 21 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.
