South Carolina brings back garnet helmets
South Carolina is wearing all-garnet everything Saturday against the Clemson Tigers.
That includes mixing up the Gamecocks’ helmet choice to use a throwback garnet look.
It is believed to be the first time wearing garnet helmets since 1998. Lou Holtz instituted the white helmets when he arrived. USC wore black helmets in 2004.
