Jerell Adams improves stock with strong day at Combine
Jerell Adams came to the NFL Combine with plenty of momentum, and he kept it going Saturday with the fastest 40-yard dash of any of this year’s tight end participants.
Adams ran a 4.64, edging fellow South Carolina native and S.C. State tight end Temarrick Hemingway, who was the second-fastest tight end Saturday with a time of 4.71.
Adams also was one of the tight end group’s top performers in the 60-yard shuttle (11.52, fourth-best), 20-yard shuttle (4.31, fifth-best), broad jump (9-9, sixth-best) and vertical jump (32.5 inches, seventh-best). Combined with his good week of practices at the Senior Bowl last month, the performance should improve Adams’ stock for the April
Pharoh Cooper did not participate in the 40-yard dash due to a quad injury. He had a 31-inch vertical jump and a 9-7 broad jump, neither of which ranked among the top 10 for wide receivers.
