Ex-Gamecock Weslye Saunders works out for New England
Former South Carolina tight end Weslye Saunders has been out of the NFL since late in the 2014 season.
But he might be getting a look from the pros again.
The former Indianapolis Colt and Pittsburgh Steeler tweeted he worked out for the New England Patriots recently. He also posted a video of himself working out with Patriots’ receiver Julian Edelman.
*another* workout. Already crushed one in Foxborough! #WhyNotWes @Patriots https://t.co/IrBIvZHm61

Saunders has 10 career receptions for 90 yards and a score in 33 career games. At 6-foot-5, 257 pounds, he also contributed in the run game for Pittsburgh in 2011 and Indianapolis the next two seasons.
Before that, he accrued 718 yards on 60 catches in three seasons in Columbia from 2007-9 before being dismissed from the team as a senior because of an improper relationship with an agent.
A foot injury limited his Combine performance and he went undrafted in 2011. He was also suspended twice, once four games for Adderall and later eight games for an undisclosed drug.
