Chapin’s Will Register makes initial ESPN 300 list
Chapin tight end and South Carolina commitment Will Register made the initial ESPN Top 300 list for the Class of 2017, released Wednesday.
Register, rated as a four-star by ESPN, is ranked No. 225 overall and the fifth-ranked tight end. He was the only the Gamecocks’ commitment on the list.
As a sophomore, Register caught 40 passes for 644 yards and six touchdowns.
The 6-foot-4, 240 pound junior was one of four players from South Carolina on the list. The others were Union County WR Shi Smith (No. 104), Wando WR OrTre Smith (No. 230) and Lake Marion safety Davondre Robinson (No. 283).
Offensive lineman Trey Smith from University School of Jackson in Tennessee is the No. 1 ranked player on the list.
