Gamecocks early favorites against Vanderbilt in 2016 opener
South Carolina’s football season opener against Vanderbilt is still more than 100 days away, but early betting lines on the game and others were released on Friday.
The Gamecocks are a 5.5-point favorite in the Sept. 1 game against the Commodores in Nashville, according to odds released by the South Point Sports Book in Las Vegas.
Three of USC’s games to open the season are on the road at SEC opponents. In addition to Vanderbilt, the Gamecocks travel to Mississippi State (Sept. 10) and Kentucky (Sept. 24). The first home game is Sept. 17 against East Carolina.
