Gamecocks QB Michael Scarnecchia out for season with injury
Quarterback Michael Scarnecchia will miss the 2016 football season, South Carolina coach Will Muschamp announced Thursday at SEC Media Days.
The redshirt sophomore from Fleming Island, Fla., had labrum surgery after a workout injury suffered while at home.
Scarnecchia saw action against LSU in 2015 and completed his only pass for nine yards.

Lorenzo Nunez will be in the QB battle, as will Jake Bentley. But Nunez will also play some wideout.
