Report: ex-Gamecock Gerald Dixon Jr. signs with Dallas Cowboys
After getting cut by his first NFL team, former Gamecocks defensive lineman Gerald Dixon Jr. has landed on another roster.
His teammate and ex-South Carolina safety Isaiah Johnson tweeted congratulations Wednesday to Dixon for heading to Dallas to join the Cowboys, and the Tampa Bay Times’ Greg Auman confirmed it soon after.

Dixon had signed with Atlanta after the draft, but was cut in early May.
The 6-foot-3, 327-pounder was a two-year starter in Columbia. He finished his career with 84 tackles, 12 for loss and one forced fumble.
