South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp confirmed Thursday night that starting left tackle Dennis Daley won’t play against Ole Miss on Saturday due to an ankle injury.

“We’re hoping to get him back next week,” Muschamp said on his weekly “Carolina Calls” radio show.

Daley was injured in last week’s 27-24 win over Tennessee. Senior Malik Young will start at left tackle, and true freshman Dylan Wonnum will start at right tackle, Muschamp said Saturday night.

“Malik played very well (against Tennessee),” Muschamp said. “Malik has been a great teammate, has worked extremely hard to put himself in a position. I talk to the players all the time about when your number is called, be ready to go, be ready to play at a high level. Certainly, he did that.”

Wide receiver Bryan Edwards, who has been slowed by an ankle injury at times this season, has practice all week and will play Saturday, Muschamp said. Safeties J.T. Ibe (knee) and Nick Harvey (concussion) are out.
