Standout South Carolina freshman Jaycee Horn remained in a walking boot on Wednesday and is questionable for Saturday’s game against Akron. Horn, a defensive back, has started nine games this year but didn’t play against Clemson due to an ankle injury. He has 39 tackles and eight pass breakups this year.
“We’ll see what he can do,” South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp said on his weekly “Carolina Calls” radio show. “He’s still in a boot, but he’s moving around a little bit.”
Defensive lineman J.J. Enagbare has returned to practice this week after missing the Clemson game due to a head injury. Enagbare has played at defensive tackle most of the season and has 11 tackles, but he probably will play end against Akron because of the Gamecocks injuries at that position.
“We will play a little bit more with four down linemen, and that’ll be more in J.J.’s wheelhouse as far as putting him on the end,” Muschamp said.
