How many true freshmen started the Belk Bowl for South Carolina?

South Carolina true freshman offensive lineman Hank Manos of Chapin made the first start of his collegiate career Saturday in the Belk Bowl.

Manos was forced into action by the season-ending injury suffered by guard Zack Bailey. Regular Gamecocks center Donell Stanley moved to guard against Virginia, and Manos started at center. Manos’ start gave South Carolina two true freshman starters on the offensive line. Dylan Wonnum started at right tackle.

In all, five true freshmen started for the Gamecocks on Saturday. True freshmen defensive backs Israel Mukuamu, R.J. Roderick and Jaycee Horn all started on defense.
