DraftExpress has a reputation of one of the most thorough sites for NBA mock drafts and draft coverage.
And that outlet’s latest projection has both Gamecocks prospects being taking.
The mock draft released over the weekend had P.J. Dozier going No. 50 to the Philadelphia 76ers, while Sindarius Thornwell made it in at the end of the second round at No. 57 to New Jersey.
NBADraft.net has Dozier going 26th to Portland in the first round, with Thornwell 38th to Chicago.
Thornwell was SEC Player of the Year, averaging 21.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. He was a versatile defensive wing in college, able to check a range of players from some point guards to some posts.
Dozier’s shot has been in question (sub-30 percent 3-point shooter), but as a 6-foot-6, long athletic point guard, he could also provide flexibility for a team’s defense.
