Thornwell’s big draft day includes sweet new ride

Sindarius Thornwell’s Thursday started and ended with big moments.

The former South Carolina guard heard his name called in the NBA Draft shortly after 11:30 p.m. The Milwaukee Bucks selected Thornwell with the No. 48 pick, then traded his draft rights to the Los Angeles Clippers.

He’d already bought the transportation for his cross-country move – a brand-new black Porsche, purchased Thursday morning.

“I feel like it’s the best situation for me,” Thornwell said of Los Angeles. “I can fit right in there on the wing, defending and scoring the ball.”

The SEC Player of the Year and third-leading scorer in USC history, Thornwell notched the best individual year in program history. He celebrated the NBA Draft with a party at the Moose Lodge in his hometown of Lancaster.

The cost of a new Porsche Panamara? New models start around $85,000.
