Kory Holden leaves South Carolina basketball team
South Carolina won’t have Kory Holden available Saturday against Auburn -- or for the rest of the season.
USC has announced Holden, a junior guard who transferred to the Gamecocks from Delaware, is leaving the program.
Holden played in 14 games this season, his first in garnet and black. The injury-plagued 6-foot-1, 197-pounder was averaging 3.4 points per game. Holden entered the year coming off knee surgery and then went down with a hamsting strain Dec. 19 at Clemson. He dressed, but didn’t play at Tennessee on Tuesday.
Holden scored 892 points in two seasons at Delaware. He sat out last year in Columbia due to NCAA transfer rules.
Carolina tips with No. 10 Auburn at 3:30 p.m. The game will be televised by the SEC Network.
