South Carolina will have to wait on that chance at a 3-0 start to SEC play.
USC announced Friday that its game with Missouri — originally scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Colonial Life Arena — had been postponed as the Tigers had travel concerns due to wintry weather. The other Columbia is under a winter storm warning and is expected to receive six to 13 inches of snow.
But late Friday night, the school announced it was tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Mizzou had not left its hometown as of 6 p.m. Friday.
According to a school release: “A final determination on the tentative rescheduled matchup will be announced on Saturday afternoon.”
Tickets will be honored and there will be no refunds. Ticket vouchers distributed to those students who participated in the Read With The Gamecocks and Martin’s Math Club programs will also still be honored.
If they don’t play Sunday, the Gamecocks (7-7, 2-0 SEC) are next scheduled to play at Vanderbilt (9-5, 0-2) on Wednesday. The Tigers (9-4, 0-1) are next scheduled to host Alabama on Wednesday.
Playing would avoid a potentially tricky situation. Both teams are scheduled for two games a week through March 9, the end of the regular season. The SEC Tournament begins March 13 in Nashville.
