Gamecocks offering free basketball tickets to federal employees during shutdown

The University of South Carolina athletics department is offering free tickets to men’s and women’s basketball home games for federal employees and their immediate family “for the duration of the federal government shutdown,” the school announced Saturday.

Tickets can be obtained at the Colonial Life Arena Box Office on game day and are based on availability, the athletics department said.

Up to four tickets can be claimed for federal government employees per game. A valid federal ID is required and must be shown when getting the tickets.

The ticket office opens two and a half hours before tipoff, according to the announcement.

The next home game is on Monday when the USC women’s basketball team plays Missouri at 7 p.m. The Gamecock men’s basketball team’s next home game is on Tuesday when they play Auburn at 6:30 p.m.

For more information, contact the Gamecock ticket office at 1-800-4SC-FANS.
