PJ Dozier is one of G-League’s best this season

P.J. Dozier has had a strong first-half of the G-League season and was honored for it.

The Columbia native and former South Carolina standout was named to the Midseason All-NBA G League teams, voted on by NBA G League coaches, general managers and players. The midseason teams are named in lieu of the league not having an all-star game.

Dozier is a two-player for the Boston Celtics and plays in the G League for the Celtics’ affiliate, the Maine Red Claws. The former Spring Valley standout is 10th in the G League in scoring at 21.5 points a game to go along with 6.8 rebounds and 7 assists per game. His 7 assists per games also rank 10th in the league.

Dozier had a triple-double of 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists against Long Island on Dec. 17.

Dozier also has appeared in four games this year for the Celtics, scoring seven points in 10 minutes of action.

This is Dozier’s second season in the G League. He spent last season with the Oklahoma City Blue, the G League affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Dozier averaged 13 points and 5.6 rebounds a game last season for the Blue and appeared in two games for the Thunder.
