At least one of Frank Martin’s former players is following him to Massachusetts.

TaQuan Woodley announced Sunday that he is transferring to play for Martin at UMass.

Martin was fired by South Carolina last month and was introduced as the new Minutemen coach this past week.

The 6-foot-8 Woodley was a three-star prospect coming out of Camden High in New Jersey. He appeared in 26 games this season, averaging two points and three rebounds.

Woodley entered the transfer portal on March 26 and posted a heartfelt message about Martin.

“With Coach Martin moving on in his career, I feel that I need to explore my options and identify a situation that suits my needs. Hence, I have decided to enter the transfer portal. I look forward to talking to coaches and finding a new basketball home,” Woodley posted on Twitter on March 26.

Woodley is the second former Martin player to announce his new destination. Guard Erik Stevenson also announced Sunday he is headed to West Virginia.

A total of six players have announced they are leaving USC.
