Bishop Boswell is one of the top high school basketball players in the Carolinas, and South Carolina is making a run at him.

The Gamecocks offered Boswell a scholarship this week as the Class of 2024 guard began play for the North Carolina-based CP3 AAU team at the NIKE EYBL Peach Jam event.

“They have been talking to me for a little bit recently and had a good conversation with coach (Paris),” Boswell said Wednesday. “They are talking about possibly setting up a day to get me down there. They said they like my body and they think I can come in and be an impact guy right away.”

Boswell said he will try and work in a trip to South Carolina, which has just one commit for the Class of 2024. He can play both shooting and point guard but has mainly been a point guard with CP3 and in high school at Myers Park in Charlotte.

South Carolina is the latest to reach out to Boswell, a 6-foot-4 combo guard who is ranked as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite and ninth-best player in North Carolina. Other schools interested include Georgetown, Georgia, Missouri, Xavier, LSU, Miami and Wake Forest.

Boswell, the No. 67 player in the class, has taken official visits to Missouri and Xavier and unofficial visits to Georgia and Wake Forest.

“I definitely want to make a decision before the high school season starts,” Boswell said. “After Peach Jam, I will start cutting down the list once I get my final offers.”

Boswell said some of things he is looking for in a school is the family and how he can fit into the team’s offense.

“I like to play fast and just want to go somewhere where I can get better and develop,” he said. “I think I am an all-around guy and can do whatever it takes to help the team win. I feel like I can pass, shoot, defend and just be an all-around player.”

Boswell plays on a talented CP3 team, which features Duke commit Isaiah Evans and North Carolina commit Drake Powell. He had 20 points in the team’s first game at Peach Jam but left Tuesday’s game with an injury and didn’t play Wednesday.

Boswell hopes to play Thursday when college coaches are allowed to come in to watch on the first day of the July evaluation period.

Before Peach Jam, Boswell was named to the all-breakout team by The Circuit for the NIKE EYBL regular season.

Boswell is coming off a big junior season at Myers Park. He averaged 12 points, 5.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds this season in helping the Mustangs to the Class 4A state championship, the first in program history.

In the title game, Boswell earned MVP honors after scoring 22 points, grabbing six rebounds, four assists and three steals in the 74-60 win over Richmond Senior at the Dean E. Smith Center. He also was named to the Charlotte Observer’s All-Defensive team.
