USC men’s basketball sells out final home game vs Tennessee
With an SEC regular season championship in their sights, the Gamecocks will play their final home game of the season in front of a packed Colonial Life Arena.
South Carolina men’s basketball announced Wednesday morning on X (formerly Twitter) that it had sold out its home finale against No. 4 Tennessee later tonight. This is the third official sellout of the season for the men’s team and eighth inside Colonial Life Arena this year, with the women’s team hosting five sellout games during its regular season. CLA’s capacity is 18,000 people, per its website.
Wednesday’s game is a battle for first place in the SEC, after No. 16 Alabama fell to Florida last night. The Gamecocks can also clinch a double bye in the SEC tournament next week with a win at home.
USC, sitting in sole possession of second place, can tie for first with a win over the Vols, while Tennessee can win the title outright with a win. Wednesday’s game is also Senior Night, with the Gamecocks and coach Lamont Paris honoring three players: BJ Mack, Ta’Lon Cooper and Stephen Clark.
The Gamecocks previously defeated Tennessee earlier this season, taking down the then-No. 5 Vols in Knoxville, 63-59, on Jan. 30.
South Carolina’s announcement also included information that tickets are the student section, the Cockpit, are still available to claim. The university’s main ticket hub, Ticketmaster, had mostly resale tickets available for the general public throughout the week prior to USC’s announcement.
