Lamont Paris and the South Carolina men’s basketball program have added a transfer with NBA bloodlines.

South Florida’s Kobe Knox announced on Wednesday that he’s committed to the Gamecocks. Knox is the fourth transfer to commit to USC during the spring transfer window that runs through April 24. He has one year of eligibility left.

Knox took a visit to USC this week.

“Gamecock nation it’s time,” Knox posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

Knox (6-5, 195) is the younger brother of Kevin Knox, a former first-round draft pick of the New York Knicks who’s now with the Golden State Warriors. Kobe’s other brother, Karter Knox, plays for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Kobe’s father was a former receiver with the Florida State Seminoles and played in the NFL with Buffalo and Arizona.

This will be Kobe Knox’s third school. He started his career at Grand Canyon before transferring to South Florida. The 6-foot-5 guard appeared in 63 games for the Bulls (55 starts) and averaged 10.8 points and 3.8 rebounds this season.

Knox played at Tampa Catholic and then at Bosco Institute in Crown Point for his final prep season. He averaged 16.9 points per game during his final season.

South Carolina is at 11 projected players on the roster with Knox’s commitment. That goes to 13 if Collyn-Murray Boyles chooses another year of college over the NBA and Myles Stute is granted an NCAA wavier and is cleared medically for his final season. USC could max out at 15 scholarship players under new NCAA rules that begin for the 2025-26 season.
