South Carolina basketball adds well-traveled, versatile transfer to roster
Lamont Paris and South Carolina men’s basketball landed a big prospect from the transfer portal.
Utah transfer guard Mike Sharavjamts’ commitment to the Gamecocks was announced Monday by ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.
He has one year of college eligibility left.
He visited the USC campus over the weekend and picked South Carolina over SMU, Mississippi State and Butler.
Sharavjamts is a former four-star prospect who will give the Gamecocks versatility in shooting and ball handling with his 6-foot-9 frame. He is from Mongolia but played his high school basketball in the United States.
Last season at Utah, he averaged 7.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
Sharavjamts (pronounced “shar-rahv-jomps”) is the fifth addition from the transfer portal for the Gamecocks, who will have a new-look roster for 2025-26 with the departures of 10 players from last season.
South Carolina will be Sharavjamts’ fourth college. He also attended Dayton and San Francisco before playing at Utah last season. At Dayton, he was an Atlantic 10 all-rookie team selection after averaging 5.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists.
