South Carolina lost a commitment from Isaac Ellis just last month, and his new destination is now known.

Isaac Ellis, younger brother of current Gamecock freshman guard Eli Ellis, committed to Louisville on Monday, according to a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account. According to On3’s Joe Tipton, Ellis took a visit to Louisville over the weekend and left committed to head coach Pat Kelsey.

After committing to USC in June, Ellis decided just days after the November period ended Nov. 25 to reopen his recruitment and reclassify from the class of 2026 to 2027. It took him less than a month to choose the Cardinals as his new future team. Ellis also held an offer from Oklahoma State according to his 247Sports page.

Ellis, a 6-foot-1 guard out of Moravian Prep (N.C.) and the Overtime Elite League, is unranked in the 247Sports composite.

He’s averaging 30.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, eight assists and two steals per game while shooting 46.8% from the floor and 34.5% from three in OTE.

USC signed one player, four-star guard Marcus Johnson, to its 2026 class in November. Johnson is the No. 48 player in the class and the younger cousin of current USC guard Meechie Johnson.
