Lamont Paris’ Gamecocks get first look at SEC games for 2026-27 schedule
Head coach Lamont Paris and the South Carolina men’s basketball team got an important schedule update Thursday.
The SEC announced home and away designations for each SEC game in the 2026-27 season, including the Gamecocks’ 16 conference games. As a result, South Carolina now knows which SEC opponents it will travel to face, and which ones USC will play at home in Colonial Life Arena.
South Carolina’s biggest home game projects to be against Florida who was a No. 1 seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament and won a national title in 2025. The Gamecocks will also welcome teams like Alabama, Arkansas and Texas who all made the Sweet 16 last year.
The Gamecocks will learn the specific date of each matchup closer to the start of the season sometime this fall.
South Carolina is coming off a 13-19 (4-14 SEC) record last season, marking the third time in Paris’ four years at the helm of the program where the Gamecocks have had a losing record. The Gamecocks have made the NCAA Tournament once in Paris’ tenure (2024).
