Gamecocks continue to rise in men’s basketball Top 25

South Carolina continued to rise in the Top 25 polls, ranking No. 24 in The Associated Press and No. 20 in the USA Today/coaches’ poll on Monday.

USC (11-0) rose one spot in the AP and three spots in the USA Today polls from last week.

The Gamecocks won their only game last week, 75-61 over St. John’s in Uncasville, Conn. They host Francis Marion on Wednesday and Memphis on Saturday to complete their non-conference slate.

WOMEN REMAIN SECOND

The Gamecocks’ women’s team remained No. 2 behind Connecticut on Monday. USC (12-0) beat Elon in its only game last week.

The Gamecocks host Arkansas on Sunday to begin their SEC schedule.
