South Carolina continued to rise in the Top 25 on Monday as the Gamecocks checked in at No. 19 in the Associated Press poll and No. 15 in the USA Today/coaches’ poll. Undefeated USC (15-0, 2-0 SEC) is at its highest poll position since 1997-98, when it bounced from fifth to 16th while being ranked every week of an NCAA tournament season.

Only the Gamecocks and SMU remain undefeated in major men’s basketball.

The Gamecocks rose three spots from last week’s AP poll and five spots in the coaches’ poll. USC began its SEC season 2-0 for the first time since 2010 with wins over Auburn and Vanderbilt. USC has not been 3-0 in the SEC since 1996-97, when it began the league schedule 11-0 en route to its only SEC regular-season championship.

The Gamecocks travel to Alabama Wednesday and host Missouri on Saturday.
