Estonian forward Maik-Kalev Kotsar signs with Gamecocks basketball
South Carolina took a step in shoring up its frontcourt in March when Estonian forward Maik-Kalev Kotsar committed to the program.
Friday, two days into the spring signing period, the product of Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kan., made it official.
The 6-foot-9 forward tweeted he’d signed the paperwork to join the Gamecocks. Soon after, coach Frank Martin and the team’s officially account tweeted news acknowledging it.

Kotsar was a member of Estonia's 18-and-under national team. He’s a skilled power forward with range and solid passing skills.
