Two South Carolina hoops targets set dates for official visits
Conway forward Jimmy Nichols announced his date for his official visit to South Carolina on Monday.
Nichols will visit USC on Sept. 8-10. The Gamecocks haven’t offered him yet but he said they are close enough that he included them in are one of his final three schools.
Nichols’ two other final schools are Providence and Miami. He will visit Providence this weekend and Miami on Sept. 29-Oct. 1.
Nichols is the No. 4 prospect in South Carolina for Class of 2018, according 247Sports. The 6-foot-8 forward participated in the NBPA Top 100 camp in June.
As a junior, Nichols averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds a game for Conway.
Northwood Academy’s Immanuel Bates, another USC target, announced his dates for his Gamecocks visit over the weekend. According to Elevate Hoops, Bates will visit USC on Sept. 15-16.
247Sports rates Bates as a four-star recruit and the eighth-rated prospect in North Carolina. He is ranked No. 78th by ESPN on the Top 100 for Class of 2018.
Bates, 6-foot-9, played at Jack Britt High School before transferring to Northwood last season.
