Gamecocks offer California QB
South Carolina offered quarterback Ryan Hilinski of Orange Lutheran High Orange, Calif., he reported Sunday via Twitter.
Hilinski (6-3, 215) is a Class of 2019 prospect who threw for 1,582 yards, 12 touchdowns and eight interceptions as a sophomore. He is a three-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite rating that factors in all networks.
Hilinski on Friday night was 18-of-24 passing for 217 yards and two touchdowns in his team’s win.
Will Muschamp and quarterbacks coach Kurt Roper called him Sunday morning and extended the offer, he said.
“The offer is huge,” he said. “First SEC offer is big time and I’m very grateful towards Coach Muschamp and Coach Roper. I’m definitely going to catch a game in the fall. Not exactly sure which week yet but I’ll be out there.”
His other offers, according to 247Sports, are from Boston College, Fresno State, Montana State and San Jose State.
He’s the second QB offer for USC in the 2019 class, joining Garrett Shrader of Charlotte.
