Gamecocks fans break out ‘We want Sandidge’ chant in Colonial Life Arena
Turns out, Zion Williamson isn’t the only high-profile recruit to earn a stadium-wide chant from South Carolina’s fans.
The Gamecocks football team was hosting a larger group of visiting recruits Saturday as the basketball games against Texas Tech, among them four-star defensive tackle Rick Sandidge. The USC fans had started a small tradition of chanting “We want Zion” through the five-star’s recruitment.
Williamson picked Duke, so Sandidge got the treatment in person.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound tackle from Concord N.C. is reportedly down to South Carolina and Georgia. He visited the Bulldogs two weeks ago, taking in the South Carolina game there, and is taking his final visit this weekend.
He will announce on National Signing Day in February.
