Murphy is the seventh member of USC’s 2019 class. He can play center or guard. He made an unofficial visit to USC for the junior day in January and returned to campus Saturday to make his commitment.
He also holds offers from Texas, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Michigan State, East Carolina, Missouri, Kentucky and others. He picked up his USC offer last May.
Murphy is USC's second commitment in as many days for the 2019 class. WR Jamario Holley of Northwestern committed on Friday. The Gamecocks now have seven commitments in the 2019 class.
He is the second 2019 pledge in two days for the Gamecocks. Northwestern High (Rock Hill) wide receiver Jamario Holley committed to South Carolina on Friday morning.
USC has three pledges up front on the offense for the next recruiting class. Miami offensive lineman Mark Fox committed to USC a week ago.
