Top 70 player, Columbia native visits Gamecocks, shoots around with Trae Hannibal
A familiar face came back to the South Carolina recruiting scene Saturday afternoon.
Columbia native Christian Brown, formerly of A.C. Flora and Lower Richland, took an unofficial visit with the Gamecocks for their game against Arkansas. He sat behind the USC bench.
Brown is a 6-foot-6, 205-pound small forward who now plays for national power Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. He’s ranked as the No. 61 player in the 2019 class by both 247Sports and Rivals.
USC, for now, has filled its scholarship allotment for next season’s team, but recruiting continues in case of attrition.
Brown is also being courted by the likes of N.C. State, Georgia and Pittsburgh.
After USC’s win over the Razorbacks, Brown stayed in CLA to shoot-around with Gamecock signee and fellow SC native, Trae Hannibal.
The duo wore matching white Carolina shorts.
