South Carolina makes the final five for top-75 national recruit

South Carolina offensive line coach Eric Wolford has built up some talent in his time in Columbia.

He has the Gamecocks in the thick of it with a top-75 national recruit in Kingsland, Georgia lineman Micah Morris.

Morris released a top five Tuesday afternoon with the Gamecocks alongside Alabama, Florida, Florida State and Georgia.

The Gamecocks were one of Morris’ earliest offers, going back to January of 2018. He visited the Gamecocks earlier this year, last June and last April.

The 6-foot-4, 316 pounder is ranked No. 73 in the 247 Sports composite national rankings. He’s 11th among offensive tackles and seventh among players in the state of Georgia.

The Gamecocks have not signed a blue chip offensive lineman in the past two cycles. The last one was Dylan Wonnum, who broke into the starting lineup halfway through his true freshman year.

South Carolina does not have an offensive lineman committed yet for 2021.
