Gamecocks football hands out an offer to another one of Luke Doty’s targets
Adam Randall continues to rack up the Power Five offers.
On Thursday, Myrtle Beach receiver picked up one from South Carolina. The Gamecocks’ offer joins Randall’s list which consists of Louisville, North Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Wake Forest, Duke, Mississippi State and Arkansas.
Randall said the Gamecock coaches have been in contact with him over the past couple months and USC coach Will Muschamp extended the offer Thursday.
“I am grateful and excited for the offer,” Randall said. “It means it’s another opportunity for me to stay close to home to receive my education an play the sport I love. I have been to several USC games. I always liked the atmosphere. I think they have a good program they have several local players on the team..
“The coaching staff said they like my style of play and my size and strength on the field.”
Randall is part of one of the top receiving duos in the state alongside rising senior JJ Jones, who has USC in his final five and will announce his college choice next week. The two receivers were two of the top targets for South Carolina signee Luke Doty last season. Doty signed with the Gamecocks in December and enrolled in January.
Myrtle Beach won the Class 4A title in 2018 and played for a state championship last season. Randall said Doty was the first person talked to about the offer after his parents.
The 6-foot-3, 198-pound Randall is the No. 3 ranked prospect in SC for Class of 2022 by 247Sports and ranked 198 nationally. Randall caught 25 catches for 486 yards and three touchdown passes last season despite missing six games with an arm injury.
