Oluwatosin “Tree” Babalade will be a Gamecock after all.
The offensive lineman from Maryland announced Tuesday though a social media post that he has committed again to the South Carolina football program.
“Boom we back in business lock in,” he said on Twitter in announcing his recommitment.
His announcement comes less than a week after announcing he was reopening his recruitment. Babalade stayed with Gamecocks over interest from the home-state Maryland program. He also considered Ohio State and Rutgers.
The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Babalade is rated a four-star prospect and the No. 254 player in the 2023 class, per the 247Sports Composite. He had been committed to South Carolina since Aug. 5.
Babalade played this season for Dematha Catholic High School in Maryland.
Babalade is USC’s third class of 2023 commitment of the day. Earlier Tuesday, the Gamecocks landed commitments from four-star tight end Trey Knox (Arkansas transfer) and three-star tight end Reid Mikeska (high school).
