South Carolina football offers talented, young hometown receiving prospect
Khristian Jackson had a breakout season for Ridge View High School. Now he has an offer from South Carolina.
Gamecocks receivers coach Mike Furrey offered Jackson, a Class of 2027 prospect, on Tuesday during a visit at the school as the NCAA contact period began this week.
“It means a lot to be offered by my hometown especially seeing what they are building towards regarding the receiver room and just knowing they want me to be apart of that is truly exciting,” Jackson said. “Two of the main things they liked about me is my size and build being a younger guy, along with my potential and talent on the field.”
USC added Jackson’s teammate, Jordon Gidron, in the early signing period. Gidron, who reclassified from Class of 2026 to 2025, has enrolled at USC and practiced with the Gamecocks before the bowl game.
The Gamecocks had a big receiving signing class with six signees after Irmo’s Donovan Murph committed last week. Four of the six signees were from the state of South Carolina.
It is Jackson’s first Southeastern Conference offer. He also had offers from Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Charlotte and Miami (Ohio).
With Gidron sidelined for much of the year, the 6-foot, 170-pound Jackson elevated to be the team’s top receiver in his second year on varsity. He finished the season with a team-high 49 catches for 737 yards and 10 touchdowns for the Blazers.
Jackson had a season-high five catches for 132 yards and three touchdowns against Class 5A Division II champion Northwestern.
