A Class 2026 South Carolina football commitment has changed his mind about his college destination.

Four-star defensive back Peyton Dyer decommitted from Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks, he told On3 on Tuesday.

Dyer had been committed to South Carolina since November 2024. He’s a four-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite rating that factors in multiple recruiting networks.

The Duluth, Georgia product plays both wide receiver and cornerback at Duluth High but was being recruited by South Carolina as a defensive back.

Dyer, listed at 6-foot and 200 pounds, holds 20 offers according to On3.

His decision leaves the Gamecocks’ 2026 recruiting class with five commitments.
