South Carolina football in-state WR recruit for Class of 2027 decommits
South Carolina football is losing its second commitment for the Class of 2027.
Oceanside Collegiate receiver Jaiden Kelly-Murray is decommitting from Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks, Rivals’ Chad Simmons reported on Monday. He is the second decommitment for the Gamecocks after cornerback Aamaury Fountain announced on April 11 that he was committing to Florida. That leaves USC with two commits for 2027 in four-star safety Jernard Albright and QB Jerry Meyer III.
Kelly-Murray committed to South Carolina on March 13. 247Sports Composite ranks him as a four-star prospect and No. 6 in SC for Class of 2027.
“I feel like I rushed my decision a little, and committing early did not allow me to go through the recruiting process and get the full experience,” Kelly-Murray told Rivals.
Kelly-Murray visited Virginia Tech over the weekend and has an official visit set up with the Hokies in May and with Illinois and Wake Forest in June, according to Simmons.
Kelly-Murray played at Summerville his first three years of high school before announcing he is transferring to the Green Wave in the spring. Last season, he had 64 receptions for 957 yards and 14 touchdowns in helping Summerville to its second straight state championship appearance.
As a sophomore, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound receiver caught 81 passes for 1,202 yards and 13 touchdowns.
