South Carolina football on Thursday landed its second commitment for the Class of 2028.

Rising junior receiver Jhamari Cain of Huguenot High School in Richmond, Virginia, committed to Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks in a ceremony at his high school. Cain unzipped his jacket and revelaed a garnet Gamecocks T-shirt as he announced his choice.

Cain joins Joseph “Jet” Gibbs as USC’s two commitments for 2028. Gibbs also is a receiver.

Cain picked USC over Kentucky and Virginia Tech.

The 6-foot-1 Cain is teammates with Gamecocks 2027 WR commitment Iveon Lewis. South Carolina offered him more than a year ago. As a sophomore, Cain had 28 receptions for 532 yards and five touchdowns.

247Sports Composite and Rivals both rank Cain as a three-star prospect. He and his Huguenot squad visited South Carolina the past two years and played in Beamer’s 7-on-7 camp.
