How South Carolina football commitments performed this past weekend.

▪ RB CJ Freeman (Northern Guilford; Greensboro, N.C.): Had 19 carries for 88 yards, returned a kickoff 36 yards in 45-14 loss to Page.

▪ WR Bryan Edwards (Conway; Conway): 4 catches for 100 yards, 1 TD, 1 2-pt. conversion in 55-0 win over South Brunswick.

▪ CB Chris Smith (South Pointe; Rock Hill): Had a 65-yard kickoff return to help South Pointe to a 33-21 win over Rock Hill.

▪ DE Jordan Smith (Lithonia; Lithonia, Ga.): 1 tackle for loss, 1 forced fumble in Lithonia’s 54-6 win over Clarkston.

▪ DE Cecil Stallings (Tucker; Tucker, Ga.): Helped Tucker to a 51-38 win over Godby.

▪ LB P.J. Blue (Park Crossing; Montgomery, Ala.): Helped Park Crossing to a 24-6 win over Lanier.

▪ LB JaCorey Morris (Clarke County; Grove Hill, Ala.): Clarke County was shut out 35-0 by Jackson in its opener.

▪ OT Will Putnam (Hickory Ridge; Harrisburg, N.C.): Played in a 39-32 loss to Mount Pleasant.

▪ TE Will Register (Chapin; Chapin, SC): 6 receptions for 77 yards in 44-7 win over Mid-Carolina.

▪ S Marlon Character (Grady; Atlanta, Ga.): Bye week before facing Carver-Atlanta on Friday.

▪ OT Akeem Cooperwood (Georgia Military College; Milledgeville, Ga.): Faces Kilgore College on Saturday.

▪ OG Lloyd Cushenberry (Dutchtown; Geismar, La.): Opens the season Friday versus Lutcher.

▪ S JJ Givens (Atlee; Mechanicsville, Va.): Opens the season Thursday against Deep Run.

▪ CB Tre Jackson (University; Baton Rouge, La.): Opens the season Friday against Archbishop Rummel.

▪ QB Brandon McIlwain (Council Rock North; Newton, Pa.): Season-opener is this coming Friday against Perkiomen Valley.
