USC offers Class of 2016 defensive end from Tennessee

South Carolina made an offer Tuesday night to defensive end Sadarius Hutcherson of Huntingdon, Tenn., and immediately joined Memphis and Arizona State as the teams at the top of his list.

The Sun Devils have not yet offered. Hutcherson (6-6, 250) said he also has offers from Middle Tennessee, San Diego State, Nevada, and Massachusetts.

“I was happy. It was a true blessing,” Hutcherson said of the USC offer. “It puts South Carolina as a top school because of the players’ effort, the coaches and especially and the fan base.”

Hutcherson has been to games at Memphis and Tennessee this season and might go to Clemson on Saturday, though the Tigers aren’t recruiting him. As for official visits he plans to set, he’s looking at USC, Memphis and Arizona State.

Hutcherson said he’s looking to make a decision soon, likely in November.

▪  Other note: USC DB commitment JJ Givens of Mechanicsville, Va., plans an official visit with Wisconsin.
