The South Carolina football team already has one tailback committed for the 2016 class, and they’ll get a visit from another with SEC background.

Junior college runner Treyvon Paulk tweeted late Friday he’ll make it to Columbia for an official visit in late January. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound runner had a wide range of power five school offers when he signed with Tennessee in 2014, included one from the Gamecocks.

Paulk was dismissed by the Vols following a police report he hit a woman at a woman early in the 2014 season, though he was never charged. Since then, he went to Hutchinson Community College in Kansas and led the Blue Dragons with 669 rushing yards on 121 carries with nine touchdowns.

Current Gamecock Marquavius Lewis also played at Hutchinson. Tailback CJ Freeman is already on schedule to enroll early in January.

Paulk is a native of Alpharetta, Ga., and a former high school teammate of Gamecock center Cory Helms. He missed most of his senior season in high school with a torn ACL, though he did rush for about 700 yards in three games.
